About the title
The title The Redwood Sidthe was suggested by guitarist John Renbourn, who described it as a play on the traditional folk title The Greenwood Side. He explained "Sidthe" as a magical forest associated with the fairy folk. John was quite the raconteur (a word I learned directly from him), and I never discovered whether "Sidthe" was an old word, a bit of folklore, or one of John's inventions. Either way, the sound of the name and the image it evoked stayed with me, and it became the title of the piece.
